Inpatient Admission
At the time of admission your personal details will be recorded electronically and you will be given a patient identification armband. This armband will act as your identification throughout your stay at the UKE.
We will determine your insurance status and, if requested, provide you with an Elective Medical Services Agreement.
If you have any questions regarding contracts or charges, the Central Case Management – situated at the Central Patient Admission Desk – will be more than happy to help you.

Invoicing
All hospital invoices covering general hospital services will be issued by our department. This includes DRG invoices, invoices for pre- and post-inpatient treatments, polyclinic medical services, outpatient surgical procedures, university ambulance services, special consultation, dental procedures and outpatient emergency treatments.
For patients covered by statutory health insurance, the legally stipulated fee will be applied.

Litigation
All disputed cases stemming from insurance companies and medical advisory boards will be assessed by our department, with the assistance of a multi-disciplinary group of experts.

In cooperation with the Finance business division, we will refer any cases of unpaid invoices to the Credit Control Claims Divison in order to collect any outstanding fees.

In the event of a suitable out-of-court settlement, we reserve our right to claim compensation and payment, and will present our case to the relevant courts.
